Welcome to Whiskey Creek Steakhouse!
Our restaurant is not only
the site of great food, but a lot of
colorful history as well.
Once inside, take a moment
to look around. As you can see by the photo
gallery on the walls, the existing building
was Keyport’s first mercantile in 1927. In
1934, the owner turned the store into the
“Keyport Tavern”. (Rumor has it he was quite
a gambler and lost and re-won the tavern on
several occasions!) The tavern was renamed
“The Torpedo Shop” by the next owner, a Navy
diver.
In 1995, the present
owners, Patrick and Karen Ziarnik,
transformed the sixty year old tavern into a
family restaurant fashioned after favorite
restaurants in Dallas and Tucson.
Staying true to Whiskey
Creek’s historic past, the décor reflects a
unique, yet warmly inviting feel of a rustic
mountain cabin. A fireplace now stands
instead of the old juke box and you’ll
notice a “No Alcoholic Beverages” sign from
the Prohibition years. The beautiful back
bar, built in Europe in 1893, sailed around
Cape Horn bound for a Ballard apothecary
before it was moved here in 1934.
Some things never change
or go out of style, though. Whiskey Creek
Steakhouse’s popularity owes its success to
the owners’ steadfast commitment after years
in the hospitality business:
Providing great food with friendly faces
and excellent service. Then serve it all
up at comfortable prices!
